Joy Buolamwini was born in Edmonton, Alberta between 1989 and 1990, and is still alive today. After college she was given the title of "Poet of Code" for her work in the computer science field.
Education
Buolamwini completed her bachelors at the GA institute of technology, and then went on to do her Masters at Jesus College, Oxford. She also studied at MIT.
Contributions
Buolamwini was responsible for many contributions for CS. One of her minor contributions includes creating a "Ted Talk" to raise awareness. One of her more major contributions, which she is most famous for is creating the Alogorithimic Justice League, and using it to uncover AI-based gender and racial discrimination from companies such as IBM and others.
