Mark Dean

Introduction

Mark Dean was born on March 2nd, 1957 and is still alive today. He earned his name by making a very crucial breakthrough in computer engineering.

Education

In 1979 Dean collected his Bachelors in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee, then continued in his path by getting a Masters from Florida Atlantic University in 1982, and a Ph.D from Stanford in 1992

Contributions

In the early 1980's, Dean became the Chief engineer for the team on IBM that designed the original IBM computer. This was a minor contribution he made to computer science that also set him on his track for his more major contributions. For example, getting this role helped him develop the first color monitor PC and the first gigahertz computer chip.
